Women's Ensemble upcoming rehearsal details:

Tuesday, October 17 at 7.30 pm

Our focus at the next rehearsal:

1. "Stars" by Eriks Esenvalds. Please note we have been invited to perform this song at the South Seattle College's Christmas concert on Sunday evening, December 10 at 7pm.  Their concert theme is "Snow and Stars", and this is a great fit. Please let Bron know if you're interested and available. This would be a great trial run for the January 26 concert.

Memorization of "Stars" would be preferable, as we will be playing the wine glasses for our accompaniment.

2. "Lux Aeterna" by Michelle Roueche. Scheduled for church worship on Sunday, October 29, which is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. It's almost 2 years since we sang it, here's the recording of our last performance:

Lux Aeterna - November 1, 2015

3. "For Everything There is a Season". We worked extensively on this piece last night. Both the timing and the articulation of the blues riffs are extremely challenging. Bron is inclined to push this down the priority list, given it can be sung in church, so we can focus on the secular and new songs for our concert program.  While we may get it together for the concert (it just takes a heck of a lot of slow practice!), we can certainly sing it in church after January 26. However, ideally we should continue to run through sections of it at each practice to continue the learning process.  If you missed last night's rehearsal, a second draft was distributed.  Please discard the first one.
